High Risk Disability Insurance
“Healthy” is a broad term—and sometimes, people who feel perfectly fine are told they can’t qualify for disability coverage. Whether it’s a medical condition, a combination of diagnoses, or just your build, you may have been declined elsewhere—even if you and your doctor consider you healthy.
We may still be able to help—as long as you’ve been working at least 30 hours a week for the past 12 months.
So how can we do it?
We work with companies that offer graded benefit policies—coverage designed specifically for higher-risk cases. These plans come with a few limits, but they offer real protection when traditional coverage isn’t available.
Here’s how it works: In year one, your benefit is capped at 35%. In year two, it increases to 70%. This helps protect the insurance company from someone going on claim too quickly, while still giving you access to meaningful coverage.
The benefit period is also typically limited to 2 or 5 years—but that’s often enough to make a major difference if something happens.
By adjusting benefit levels and duration, we can often secure coverage at a reasonable premium—even when standard plans say no.
If you’re interested, just fill out our quote/info request form and let us know your medical condition(s) and that you want to explore high-risk or graded benefit coverage. These plans aren’t always available—but if they are, we’ll track them down for you.
And remember: insurance pricing is regulated, so you won’t pay more by working with us. When you're ready, we’d be honored to help you apply right here. Thank you for supporting InsurancePickle.com.
